District Receives $1,250 Grant from Beaver County Educational Trust to Support Early Literacy
We are proud to announce that our district was awarded a generous $1,250 grant from the Beaver County Educational Trust (BCET) to support early literacy development through the purchase of Wonderbooks for our first and second grade students.
Wonderbooks are print books with a built-in audiobook player, allowing students to listen and read along at the same time—an approach that supports decoding, vocabulary growth, and reading comprehension. These engaging books are especially impactful for students who require additional literacy support.
Thanks to this funding, 30 high-interest fiction and nonfiction Wonderbooks were selected and tailored to meet students’ reading levels and interests. The books were used in classrooms and sent home with students to encourage family involvement and reinforce skills outside of school.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Beaver County Educational Trust for investing in our students' futures and supporting innovative approaches to reading instruction. The Wonderbooks will be added to our school library collection, ensuring continued access and impact for years to come.
