About the Program
The Riverside Beaver County School District’s Food Service Department is committed to providing healthy and well-balanced meals to your children. Our Cafeteria is focused on health, wellness, and good nutrition. We continuously strive to offer a large variety of quality food choices in the cafeteria.
Freshly prepared, nutritious lunches will be provided by our food service department. Our program follows the nutritional requirements of the National School Lunch Program. Our program meets the nutritional standards set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Education

Food Service Department Updates
The first complete breakfast is free of charge for all Riverside students every day. Please read below for important details about the free meals program.
In order for a breakfast meal to be free, a student must select:
- At least one of the following: fruit, vegetable or fruit juice
- At least two of the following: protein, grain, milk.
- A la carte items, such as a single pop tart or cereal bar, are not eligible for the free breakfast program and students will be charged for individual items.
Breakfast is available in each building daily - FOR FREE
Lunch Guidelines:
Lunch Prices are as followed:
Elementary: $2.75
Middle: $2.80
High: $2.85
Free for those who qualify.
In order for a meal to be free (to those who qualify), a student must select the following:
- At least one of the following: fruit, vegetable, fruit juice
- At least two of the following: protein, grain, milk
The following items are NOT eligible for the free meals program and students will be charged a la carte pricing for these items:
- Single food items, such as: one slice of pizza, a side of French fries, a cereal bar, etc.
- A second meal; only one full meal per student per day will be free.
- Bottled water
- Snack items, such as: ice cream, chips, sports drinks, etc.
Online Systems for Managing Student Cafeteria Accounts
The Food Service Department will continue to utilize SchoolCafe to allow families to manage and view breakfast and lunch purchases and make online food service payments. Families should visit School Cafe to access their child's account. Families will need to enter their name, email address, phone number, student name(s), school(s) and student ID number, which can be found in Skyward or by contacting us directly.
The Food Service Department does allow families to set restrictions on their child’s cafeteria account. Please contact the Food Service Department at 724-758-7512 ext 3033 if you would like to specify or limit items that your child can purchase at school or to discuss other issues.
Negative Balance Alerts
Parents/guardians of students who have a negative balance with the Food Service Department will now receive an at least weekly alerts by email. Parents/guardians can add funds to their child’s account in one of the following ways:
- Access the student account through SchoolCafe and add funds electronically using a credit or debit card. (Fees may apply)
- Send a check or cash to school. Please be sure to place the check or cash in an envelope that is sealed and is clearly marked with the name of the student, their school, and direct it to the attention of the school cafeteria.
Free & Reduced-Price Meals Program
Children may qualify for free and reduced price meals if their family meets the income guidelines set by the US Department of Agriculture. If your family has qualified previously, you must reapply every year. Additionally, if your family's income changes during the school year, you may apply for free and reduced price meals at any time.
If you have received a NOTICE OF DIRECT CERTIFICATION letter for free meals, do not complete the application. But do let the school know if any children in your household are not listed on the Notice of Direct Certification letter you received.
