Title IX District Information

What is Title IX?teach
Title IX is a federal civil rights law initially passed in 1972 to protect people from discrimination based on sex.  The law was most recently updated in May 2020 and specifically addresses requirements by school districts to protect students and staff.  The Title IX Law specifically states that:

"No person in the United States shall, on the bases of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance."

The Riverside Beaver County School District has specific protocol in place for protecting our students and staff, which is available for the community to view in our Policy Manual located HERE.  Policies that address Title IX incidents include 103, 104, 247, 249, 252, 317.1, and 824 among others.

If you feel that you've been a victim of any violation of Title IX please contact Riverside's Title IX Coordinator, Mr. Bret Trotta, immediately.  Both victims and third parties may contact the Title IX Coordinator to report incidents of sex discrimination, sexual harassment, or sexual violence.  Reporting forms are available on the menu to the left of the screen.
