Riverside District Wellness
The Riverside School District established a Wellness Committee known as “PAWS ” Panther Athletic Wellness for Students & Community in order to promote a school environment that supports healthy nutrition and physical activity. This effort involves a collaborative approach by teachers, staff, students, PTO, parents, health professionals, school board members, administrators, and other community members. Together we have found that we can make a difference in promoting a healthy change among our students and school community.
PAWS Fitness Center
The PAWS fitness center is being built in the existing Middle School Weight Room off of the Gymnasium. The project is solely funded by grants and fundraising efforts. The fitness center is budgeted to cost $100,000 in which $65,000 has currently been raised.
Currently the PAWS fitness center is open on a limited basis to students and staff during their regularly scheduled class. At the completion of the project, the center will be open to the community. Our hope is to complete the PAWS fitness center by the spring of 2008. Your support is greatly appreciated.
